Privacy Policy

Effective November 2, 2026 · Contact: lkrrobinson8811@gmail.com

Lock In runs its core commitment system on your device. Cloud social features are optional and require an account, and may not be active in every released app version. This policy distinguishes local functionality from account-based functionality.

Data handled on your iPhone

When you create commitments, the app may store their titles, times, deadlines, progress, results, streaks, recovery passes, optional motivations, and calendar records locally on your device. The app may store a summary of these records in an iOS App Group so its widgets and Live Activities can show progress.

Location

With permission, Lock In uses iOS location services to measure running or walking distance and determine whether you arrive at a selected destination. The current device-based verification system does not transmit raw GPS routes, live position or selected destination coordinates to a social backend. iOS may store location permissions and system diagnostic information under Apple's own policies. Location access can be changed in iPhone Settings.

Optional social account data

When cloud Community features are enabled and you sign in, our service provider, Supabase, may process your email address for one-time-code authentication, your account identifier, username, display name, profile bio, profile photo, friend requests, accepted friendships, blocks, social challenge participation, voluntarily shared result summaries, moderation reports and timestamps. These data allow accounts and social functions to operate. Social result summaries are labeled self-reported, not server-verified.

Sharing and visibility

Your exact location, routes, destination addresses, and motivational statements are not designed to be uploaded to the Community. Account usernames, display names, bios and profile photos may be visible to other logged-in members for friend discovery. Activity posts and friends-only challenges are visible only to your accepted friends, subject to blocked-user restrictions. Your contribution to friend leaderboards is optional and controlled by a profile setting. Reported content may be reviewed by the operator for safety.

Service providers

Apple provides operating-system permissions, notifications, widgets and distribution. When enabled, Supabase provides authentication, database and image storage for social accounts. A website hosting provider may process ordinary server logs such as IP addresses to deliver this support site. We do not use in-app advertising or sell personal information, and we do not intentionally disclose location details for advertising.

Purpose and legal basis

We process information to operate the app features you request, provide authentication, keep the service secure, respond to support requests, moderate abusive content, and comply with legal obligations when necessary. Users can choose not to create a cloud social account and continue using local accountability functionality.

Retention and deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you remove it or delete the app, subject to iOS backups. When cloud Community is available, you can delete your social account in Community → Account; deleting the authentication account triggers removal of associated profile, friendships, posts, challenges and other linked social records. Profile images are removed as part of account deletion. Support correspondence and certain legal/security records may be retained as necessary to resolve requests or comply with law. See account deletion.

Security and children

Access to social data is restricted through authenticated service access and database row-level security policies. No service is completely risk-free. Lock In is a general-purpose discipline app and is not specifically designed for children under 13; users under 13 must not register for the cloud Community.

Your choices

You can disable location access in iPhone Settings, avoid social sign-in, opt out of leaderboard visibility, delete individual social activity, block another member, delete your social account, or request assistance by emailing lkrrobinson8811@gmail.com. Depending on applicable law, you may have additional rights of access, correction or deletion.

Changes

This policy may be updated as the app changes. The effective date will be updated when a new policy is published. Material changes to cloud data collection will be communicated in the app or through an appropriate notice.
